Ganzi's firm specialized in powered-shell facilities leased to hyperscalers under long-term contracts. SoftBank's acquisition price valued the portfolio at roughly 14x forward EBITDA, a premium that reflects the Japanese conglomerate's conviction that GPU compute demand will sustain triple-digit growth. The 1990s fiber reference is specific. Between 1996 and 2001, telecommunications firms laid over 80 million fiber-optic miles across North America, funded by $500 billion in debt and equity. Utilization rates never exceeded 3% before the market corrected. Ganzi's concern centers on the gap between data center capacity under construction and signed lease commitments.
